Have you seen the Vehicle History Report for the “Back to the Future” DeLorean?
Every car has a unique history and Doc’s ’81 DeLorean DMC-12 is no exception. Using vehicle history to assign value seems smart, especially when the car includes a “Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor,” and has more than 7,000,000 miles. And, when you’re selling, that same VHR will help you get the most value by connecting the car’s unique story to the right buyer…whoever that might be.
It all starts with the vehicle summary, check this out:
Some of the most important details are right at the top. “Struck by lightning” is definitely a red flag. But “Personal time travel vehicle?” I think that’s going to justify a higher valuation.
And check out that odometer reading. That’s going to raise a few questions.
Then look at the title history on this 1981 DeLorean:
This car was stolen not once, but twice, and has varying degrees of damage…on every side of the vehicle! When you’re dealing with fire and ice damage, and (spoiler alert) a train wreck, having the detailed damage report definitely helps you price a car.
Another great source of info is service history details:
At first glance, it looks like the Doc took care of it well. But the devil is in the details…arrow removal from engine, and a horse harness attached to the frame? Are these deal killers? That will probably depend on your customer.
It does have a hover conversion. Who doesn’t want to hover?
